Who here enjoys Calvin and Hobbes?

All I can recall is the strip where the teacher demands of Calvin (who is daydreaming about pterodactyls and other dinosaurs, as usual):

"Calvin! What state do you live in?"

"Denial."

I remember some study saying how calvin & hobbes was the best selling book in college bookstores, and some windbag blathering on about how it was the end of the world as we knew it.

I have 2 collection of them. Always funny stuff.

One of the greatest comic-strips ever, IMO. The other one being 'For Better or Worse'.

My favorite was the one where Calvin arranged snowmen in a staged car/pedestrian accident. In fact I think all the snowman ones were great.

This IS a good one; Thanks, Benadmiral.

My favorite goes something like Calvin and Hobbs are vegged out watching TV. The end panel has Calvin stating "and Lennon thought religion was the opiate of the masses".

I just picked up a couple collections on sale at the book store, and then got a couple more. I think I have them all now. Great stuff, though I think I erred in reading so many in a short span since some jokes cover the same ground.

Favorites are probably anything with snowmen, or Calvin spouting nonsense artist statements. Or Calvin and Susie as grownups. Or the transmogrifier. Heck, I like em all!

Vilan: what are the exact names of the collections you have?
I am trying to figure out which ones i need to buy to have all the sunday strips..

snap, was going to post that.

Footrot Flats was my fave series 'though

I used to collect Far Side, Bloom County, and Calvin and Hobbes. The problem with many of the later books is that the artist released a new book with few new strips and padded the book with many of the old, repeat strips.

I collect all things Bloom County. Got all the books. I still find myself reading them again and again even though I know what's going to happen. C&H is great too.
