Our white daily driver hyundai had a slow almost sticking electric sunroof..a good excuse to get the grease and lubricants out..on inspection i noticed it had a white grease on areas and part of the tracks..is this purely for asthetics?my black moly ruined that party..should i have used silicon lube ..? Any views appreciated

Black moly isn't a particularly good choice...

But neither is white lithium unless the FSM requests it.

Generally it's some reduced viscosity silicone grease.

Im frugal at best..and on a budget so i work with what ive got, until i come across white grease, its an area where nobody can see it unless you are standing up through the sunroof like something from kellys heroes

Does it work better now? Did you clean the old grease off? White lithium spray grease is probably what was there before?

Yeah, white lithium i bet. Low temp stuff like you would find on a garage door opener.
