Whip City opens a new defective Bosch filter

Yea I am not a fan of louvers, there is honestly zero excuse in my opinion for it not to be holes.

People might mention cost, nope. Some of the cheapest oil filters on the market have holes so cost is certainly not an excuse.

While the louvers are 'comparatively not as open' as the other 'made in Mexico BP', I don't agree with the title and WCW conclusion. What I see is plenty of openings and open enough not to make a difference, impede flow. Imo, based on the information provided him for the vid, WCW went in with a preconceived conclusion. Still many more openings in that tube than would be holes.

That said, I've had no issues with the louvers on the "made in US" Bosch Premium 3323. Also, why I make sure to include louver pic with light down tube with c&p.

I definitely would not use that one with the choked down louvers. It would go back on the shelf, and I'd find one that didn't have choked louvers. It's easy to see them down the center tube with a good LED flashlight. Looking at louvers after use is too late, need to determine if they are open enough as the buyer before buying/using the the filter.

I got 4 of those, with same code printed, bought a few months ago from RA, it's too late now - RA denied return.
The ones I bought from RA in the past were good and US made. I guess I'll just have to ditch the :poop: and get some other filters...
I never liked Bosch spark plugs either; now officially adding Bosch to naughty list.

What if the filter doesn't go into bypass or if the engine's oil filter adapter is not designed to go into bypass by itself? You're going to have oil starvation and potentially destroy your engine. That's what I worry about with louvers.

Premium Guard, holes wonderful holes, lots of’em!
Wonderful holes.. not something you hear often on bitog ;)

I too prefer holes to louvers

Not sure how those closed louvers get past QC unless its not checked and the machine goes out of spec after 1000ft.

If some pakis can make it in a dirt room with relatively simple tools.... oil filters arent hard to make.
