"Why are you so stuck on NuFinish when there's better for the price?"

Better at what ? If something beads longer on a vehicle that sits outside I'm all ears, otherwise I don't care about depth of shine after layering finishes on a garage queen.

well if you want durabilty nufinish isnt bad, but i just hate the high solvent content, it cleans well, but the looks are no better then my newly washed car with no protection on it. I use it for my wheels, it does everything I need clean and protects, Duragloss 601 + 105 for my car's paint. No harsh petroleum distillates, no staining, no dry hands afterwards.

How many products does Duragloss have? Where is thebest place to buy it? I'm going to give it a shot....seems lots of people who have used it and NuFinish say it lasts pretty long too. It's worth a try!

I think I try another little experament. I'll wat half the hood with DuraGloss and half with NuFinish. I'll poat pictures every 2 weeks to a month.

"..I have been on so many detail forums that told me Zaino, Klasse, Zymol ect are so much better and are more durrable then the NuFinish and I tried them all several times and nothing lasted as long...."

That's what I inferred, thanks for the effort to try the others out. I just wish others were a bit more honest, maybe qualifying recommendations as so; '... it doesn't last as long as long as Nufinish and costs 10 times as much, but I think it's prettier so to me it's a better product.'

Well I'm experimenting on my beater before I try to detail my truck. Not going to use nu-finish on my truck but I want to gain experience in application techniques.

First the car is a 1993 model and the finish is highly neglected with scratches, dings, dents, overspray, -- the works. I bough a tube of Nu-finish scratch doctor and buffed the whole car with it. Next, I washed and applied a coat of nu-finsh, reapplied another coat of nu-finish 12 hours later.

This stuff does shine, but only at certain angles. Gonna put on a third coat tonight, which should kill the last of the bottle. Then I will play the waiting game and see how long it lasts.

Will post pics in a new thread at some point in the future. Most likely after the third coat is a week old. Thanks for all the great links and input guys.

I used NuFinish on the truck and one car last summer. They both sit outside, here in the Pacific NW. Beading was nice for about nine months with one coat of the liquid. Evidently the paste lasts longer.

Duragloss has many products and you buy it at Carquest. Goto the website for carquest and look up locations.

for product list goto duragloss.com

i recommend the 601, 105 and Aquawax. 111, 101 and 104 are old school. Many people use 101 topped with 105 which also a good combo.

their quick detailer (fast clean and shine) is excellent.

Cool! Thanks!
So which Duragloss product is the best for pure durrability and longevity?

I remember reading somewhere that liquid NuFinish lasts as long or longer than the paste, unlike most products. I have no idea if that's true or not. I've never used the paste.

105 is the best polish they have, but stuff people use before it varies.

you can use it straight, with 601 before or with 111/101 before also. Pretty much they all mingle well.
