I don't want a carnuba wax. I want someting easily available close to home. I've narrowed it down to three choices. Meguiars NXT, Turtle wax ice, and Nu-finish. Which would you use and why? And if you have an opinion please state whether or not if you have used the product before also. Thanks guys.

If you have a Carquest around you, go there and get a bottle of Duragloss #501. The bottle says polish but it's actually a very nice long lasting sealant.

If I had to choose from the 3 you listed, I'd go with NXT. Meg's has been around for a long time and has a reputation of quality products. While some might argue Nu-finish's protection, Nu-finish orange on the detailing boards is kinda like Fram orange on this board.

Carnauba is a dinosaur.
Go with Zaino,Klasse,Rejex etc.
Synthetic polymers last much longer and in most cases shine better.

Another vote for Duragloss 105. I'm pretty impressed with how long it lasts in the Florida sun. So far it has lasted longer than anything else I have used.

I don't understand why you are restricting yourself to such a limited scope of LSPs.

My personal experience with NXT is it looks great on metallic black, but doesn't last but a couple weeks in the Phoenix summer.

Nu Finish lasted much longer, but didn't quite have the shine or the depth of the NXT. It seemed to mute the metallic flake somewhat.

Never used TW Ice.

For maximum durability with looks don't shop at Wal-Mart. Take a look at Jeff's Werkstatt or Zaino products.

well, then try carquest for duragloss 105. Get the 101 and the 105, 101 is basically like the All-In-One from Klasse, and you can layer 105 on top of it.

Here is my Camaro with a fresh coat of Nu Finish:

Don't let people tell you it's garbage and dosn't shine. It also lasts a long, long, long, long time too!

Duragloss 105.. their latest synthetic.. use the 601 polishing bonding agent and you get a year of FULL protection. use their car wash and the polish will NOT wash off..

Out of the 3 you are asking about, I would probably use Nufinsh for durability. I have used it years ago, and I doubt the formula has changed.

If you can find it, I would use DG 105, or Collinite 845 way before any of the above. You could use DG AquaWax in between (and you will be amazed as well).

Why are you so stuck on NuFinish when there's better for the price?

Just sounded funny to me!

Acctually the way you guys are talking about Duragloss I'm going to try it and the cars are just about due for a waxing. If it lasts longer I will asitch to it over the Nu Finish.

Better at what ? If something beads longer on a vehicle that sits outside I'm all ears, otherwise I don't care about depth of shine after layering finishes on a garage queen.

Yup! I have never seen ANYTHING come close to lasting as long as Nu Finish. I'll try the Duragloss but I doubt it will even come close. Why do I think this? I have been on so many detail forums that told me Zaino, Klasse, Zymol ect are so much better and are more durrable then the NuFinish and I tried them all several times and nothing lasted as long....we will see about the DG.

well if you want durabilty nufinish isnt bad, but i just hate the high solvent content, it cleans well, but the looks are no better then my newly washed car with no protection on it. I use it for my wheels, it does everything I need clean and protects, Duragloss 601 + 105 for my car's paint. No harsh petroleum distillates, no staining, no dry hands afterwards.
