which weather site is most accurate?

I use the national weather service and actually read the forecast discussion. The discussion covers things like confidence in the forecast, factors that may affect it and how, etc... Usually when forecasts are busts, the forecasters knew that may occur but have to settle on their best estimate.

Sites that display data from amateur weather collection systems I take with a giant grain of salt as none of that is calibrated or officially sited

You mean like when someone posts on FB they got a foot of snow when everyone else is getting inches... and it turns out they're measuring a drift?...‚

I always use weather.gov for the the point forecast that is very accurate with the elevation topo map. In town and at my house (same zip code) there can be a 10 degree difference in temp, 35 mph difference in wind speed, and 6 inch difference in snowfall. Most other sites just give you your town but this allows you to zoom in and click on your actual house.

Most of the folks in my circle use weather bug. I especially like their spark feature of lightning warning and mapping. It's cool to watch a wicked summer storm roll through on the spark app.
