Hi,

I have a 96 Turbo Saab that is comming up on the 1500 miles with Auto-Rx. It has been recommended that Rotella T is a good flush oil. Went to the oil store today and found Rotella T in 15-40 wt. and Rotella T Synthetic in 5-40 wt. Which sohould I use? I live in the Northeast and with my driving in the next several months it could be Oct by the time I get another 3000 miles on my aero.

Thanks

Tom

The 5W-40 is "synthetic" in advertising parlance only - it is actually a Group III conventional oil, and works perfectly well for ARX rinsing.

I asked this very question at www.auto-rx.com in the forum, and they responded that they have actual experience with 5W-40 Rotella, and it works beautifully.

Have fun!

Franks suggested either Retella T Syn 5-40 or Delo 15-40 for my rinse. I think I used Rotella Syn. No problem, but nothing much to report.

I was going to suggest running the 15, but if you think that the weather is going to get low enough to require a 5, and your pokcet book agrees, go for it.

Thanks all for the replys. I think I will go for the 5-40 as it being a turbo and all. As a matter of fack I am just about to leave for Walmart and get a jug.

Thanks again

Tom

****! that oil is coming out soon and I see people paying a lot of bucks heh. I'm going with Havoline 10w-40 for my rinse phase, cheap stuff

With a turbo you are going to want to run a HD oil like the Rotella, don't want a cheap oil coking in the turbo. Not a knock on Havoline just saying sometimes other vehicles have a little different needs than our own.
