I have a 2009 ford f-150 with a 4.6l auto transmission, regular cab, 4x2. I plan on keeping this vehicle for a long time. It will be used for going to work and some light towing and hauling on occasion. I bought it used and it had 2670 miles on it. Currently has 4360. I average around 12,000 miles a year and 70%-80% are highway. I use pennzoil platinum in our caravan with really good results and i'm leaning towards that. Just thought i would get some advice and see what you guys think.

That is a great choice. Running it now and have had no use issues like some have had when switching to it. Although any brand name 5w-20 will work great at 5 to 7.5K intervals. Nice truck, Enjoy

Stick with the platinum or ultra. I just posted a UOA from pennzoil ultra 5-20 out of my F150

to BITOG!

If Pennzoil Platinum meets the required specs for your truck, go ahead and keep using it, especially if you can use the same oil for both your vehicles.

If I had to choose it would be based on how diverse the selection of oil is in my area/region. Since I live in a big city Mobil 1 would have to be my number one in 5W-20 grade. However I've heard that Motorcraft is an excellent semi synthetic oil so I'd go for that too.

In my old 4.6 I used M1 10-30 with 10K OCIs. Very clean engine and it was running fine when I sold it. With your 09 I would use either 5-20 or 5-30 instead of the 10-30 I used in my old 96.

After seeing his UOA I would suggest the same.

I agree with this.
