Those Pontiac Vibes are extremely reliable and good running cars. My co worker has inw with only 92k miles... That car will ring a whole lot longer. No doubt.

Wow... a special oil needed for a 3,000 mile road trip?

Use what the manufacturer recommends. If that's 5W30... use 5W30. This need not be an anxiety-fest.

If you are not going to be able to change the oil for your entire trip, then go with a 10,000 oil and filter. The 0W30 you have... fine, use that.

10W30 isn't necessary unless you have an oil leak or live in the bowls of Arizona.
