Which oil filter for 2014 Jeep Cherokee?

Calm down.

It's just an oil filter, you pay for it so you can buy whatever brand you like. But your original post was about several brands then anyone can post pro and con about each brand.

Since Motorking is working for Fram, he is obvious will try to push for his company and there is nothing wrong about it.

Do I like Fram oil filter(especially Extra Guard) ? No
Do I hate Fram oil filter ? No
But for my money if I can buy better quality oil filter for less than Fram I will do it, and no one can talk me out of my buying decision.

Look folks, enough with this already. I didn't slam Fram in this post. I simply said it was out and that is ALL I said. Also said Champ/LuberFiner was out so where is the outcry on that? MK as usual however took it upon himself to lecture me on the product he sells. I am sick to death of the guy frankly and his Fram pimping.

It is worse because he does work for the company. If he were just some regular member it would be different but it isn't the case. He works for Fram and that ticks me off to no end. He shouldn't lecture people because they don't like or want to use his product. BITOG Mod's should be all over him when he does stuff like he did here.

If he wants to lurk and jump in when specific Fram questions are brought up, or jump in to offer help when a problem arises, that is fine. But don't troll the board looking for negative comments( or perceived ones )and then start lecturing the poster. Totally uncool.

The ONLY reason I even listed the Fram # was so people wouldn't tell me it was available. I listed the brands that had an offering and then the ones I would and would not use out of the list. Therefore, the comments should have been related to the ones I would use. To try and talk me into one I already said I didn't want to use is arrogant and reeks of an agenda.

There was no Fram bash so MK's comments were uncalled for. Stop defending him and stop hassling me about Fram. Don't use their oil filters and don't want to. That should end the entire Fram debate in this thread.

Wow.

Wow.

You did see this comment from him, right? Yet you keep foaming at the mouth.

But you were interested in using Mopar filters, no? It was in you're list of candidate filters. All Motorking was telling you is that the Mopar and Fram are the same exact filter ... that's why he was surprised you discounted the Fram and not the Mopar. But obviously he knew something you didn't, and wanted you to know the Fram and Mopar are one in the same. So looks like the Mopar filter should be scratched off your list too. If you would have used the Mopar, you would have been actually using a Fram ... OMG!

Fixed it for ya ... maybe the aftermarket Mopar should be scratched too because it could also be a Fram.

Purolator Classic = L36296
Fram = CH11665
Champ/LuberFiner = P1009

Fram and Champ/LuberFiner are out.

I do not believe for a second that the MOPAR filter, OEM or aftermarket, is a Fram despite what you think or what MK says( and I don't read it to say MOPAR is relabeled Fram - if anything it is the other way around in the case of my application ). Just because Champ Labs makes them, and Fram now owns Champ Labs, it does not mean all filters made by Champ Labs are Fram filters.

Unless MOPAR filters are now nothing but reboxed Fram filters, like Wix/Napa, then I do not consider MOPAR to be Fram just because of who made it. Made to MOPAR spec's by a filter company owned by Fram is not the same as it being a Fram filter with a different label.

God this has become absurd. Why people care so much and fight so hard to convert others to Fram is beyond me. I DO NOT WANT TO USE A FRAM OIL FILTER!!!!! How much clearer can I be? Fram owned Champ Labs making MOPAR filters DOES NOT MAKE a MOPAR filter a Fram filter..

I don't care if it is a MOPAR filter in a Fram box I DON'T WANT it if it says Fram. I DO NOT want to support that company anymore than I have to. I will run what I want in my car. I don't need MK or anyone else lecturing me and trying to coerce me into using Fram oil filters.

Let it go Fram fans. The choice has already been made anyway.

What's absurd is anyone getting on MK for him simply supplying info for others to use as they see fit. From an unbiased viewpoint, he was not pushing Fram on anybody. Obviously he and everyone else here knows people will make up their own minds based on what they know. You saying you don't believe in what he says (even though he works for Fram and has the inside info) just goes to show how absurd your hatred for Fram is. That's fine, it's kind of comical actually.

What I'm really interested in is seeing all the Mopar gearheads using Magneti Marelli labeled filters.

At least they'll now have a cross for my G.

Some people need to learn not to be so sensitive when someone throws out a factual comment.

What transpires to make the power train computer set a code due to an oil change? Low oil pressure for too long? Must be some kind of sensor(s) not liking what they see. First time I've heard of any vehicle setting trouble codes due to what oil filter is used.

I've never heard of that either.
My charger will throw a code if the oils too thick though. I hadn't ever heard of that either until I saw it.

So let me get this straight.
Motorking is nice enough to inform us that the molar filter is a fram, which could save a guy a few bucks and he's getting ripped on for it.
Wow.
Talk about shooting the messenger.
Fram hate runs deep.
I guess I hate Mobil in the same way.

It isn't just this thread. It is what he has done over his time here plus this thread. He knows I don't like Fram( we have gone round and round before )and I specifically said it was out so he should have just left it alone but he can't do that. He has to push his product on me( and everyone else ). I don't like that. Sorry if that offends you.

I am asking a Mod to remove this thread. It serves no purpose at this point. People won't let it drop and I will be darned if I will get ripped over this without defending myself. I have made my choice and if all that will keep up is people going after me it may as well get yanked.

This place is really ridiculous at times.

Some people plant their own seeds of absurdness with an over watering of sensitivity ... it's a great combo to grow some ludicrous.
