Just bought a TORO Model no 21472 which is branded as a 22 inch walk behind self-propelled super recycler with a Briggs and Stratton engine. They don't tell you which Briggs and Stratton engine, and I am having a hard time figuring out which one it is, but from what I can find online it has the EXi 163 engine for which they only tell you the torque, not the horsepower. It is billed as a guaranteed to start, but quite honestly my five year old Craftsman with a Honda engine and an NGK platinum plug starts up more readily. Having a devil of a time trying to find out what spark plug it takes to see if I can upgrade to platinum plug. The Super Recyler part seems to work okay as does the personal pace. I would have gotten one that was not self-propelled, but my new house is on a hill and I am getting a bit old.
update NGK makes the BCPR5ES for this mower and the Iridium equivalent is the BCPR5ESIX but the platinum is discontinued.
Another thing is that nowhere can I verify 100% what the gap is supposed to be. It usually starts but sometimes takes two or three pulls to get going.
