Which market leaders do you avoid, and why?

Budweiser...I support the local product and drink Rolling Rock mostly.
Coors Light...If I want to drink water, I'll get a glass at the sink.

I say no to the big 3 in beers, Bud,Coors,Miller. Boring! Give me a Samuel Adams,Flying Fish on the east coast and a Sierra Nevada on the west coast.

Years ago, I drank 100% import beers. I used to say that when America made drinkable beers, I would drink them.

The microbrews met my criteria. Unfortunately, about 3 years ago I gave up beer drinking entirely.

no more.

Dodge- had a bad experience with one
Ford and lower end GMs- seen a lot of things go wrong with them from a few people who own them
Mitsubishi- their cars look like crap now and their quality sucks

Nestle Waters markets Poland Springs and San Pelligrino. The advertising for Poland Springs was very misleading, suggesting the water came from the deep woods somewhere. Actually, one of their wells was in a parking lot next to a state highway. However, I think I would rather drink Poland Springs than some of the other bottled waters, which are nothing more than filtered water utility tap water.

San Pellegrino is something else. I have generally given up sodas and beers for bottled water, and I drink around 750 ml of San Pellegrino a day.

As for McDonalds, ugh. I have not eaten anything from there in over 20 years.

I only eat at Macdonalds when drug there as part of a group.

The thread on manuals reminds me, Chilton

I agree with k1xv about Starbucks Coffee. Who would pay so much for a cup of coffee when you can get a good cup of coffee for a lot less. A lot of people are bashing Microsoft and Microsoft has done things to deserve this. But Microsoft is making kind of a comeback. For example, just recently I discovered that Microsoft has come out with software that could replace some of the really expensive software in the market. Personally I am sad to see what seems like the decline in name brands like Chevrolet and Ford.

I try to avoid Windows OS's even though I have XP (but use Linux regularly as now).

I avoid Wal-Mart whenever possible. I do have a serious case of Costcosis, however...

Starbucks. I prefer the local Woods Coffee outlets we have here.

I could go on but I might be risking a threadlock!

Man I miss Woods - well mainly because we could walk across Bender to get there, even when we were having a full Frazier River arctic blast.(OTOH, I really don't miss that wind!)

Is it just me or is Mapquest actually getting worse?

I avoid Anheuser Busch, Coors and the other mass market beers. Just don't care for their marketing practices and bland product.

Posted here by accident, and don't see how to delete. Oh well bump.

With the one thread, do we need to add AAA to the list?

Certainly, I avoid Microsoft. Solaris is a much better choice for me.

Of course, ignore my bias of being employed by the company that produces Solaris

Wart-Mal of course. (Unless I'm in the mood for a free freak show)
Exxon-Mobil for being war profiteers.
Except when I buy M1 at WM: poetic justice to think WM is squeezing XOM to save me dough.
How about Stanley tools for trying to HQ in Bahamas(?) to avoid paying US taxes?
MicroSoft for obvious reasons.
Blose: Better $ound through market research....
Ford, Chrysler, and Generic Motors. Why? Overweight, unrefined, low tech, ***** products

Medco prescription management services, when possible.

Like others - Goodyear, Firestone and Mal-wart.

General Motors

Safeway/Randalls grocery stores

MCI

Texaco
