Which is the better air compressor, two stage 30 gallon or single stage 60 gallon.

Yellow sticker for the Dewalt says 27 gallon. There may be a mistake regarding that price. The DXCM602 is over $800 on sale in my area. Regular price, $1021

Edit: this is the PN called out on that yellow sticker...
Your have an eagle eye for detail @Nessism1! Unfortunately, when I scan the QR code that @GON posted for the 60 gallon DeWalt compressor, it comes up at $805.99 as a "Special Buy" price.

Here is a different perspective. The 87 dBA rating of the DeWalt vs the 76 dBA rating of the Husky is very significant. If I understand the dBA scale correctly, the DeWalt is over 4 times as loud as the Husky. The DeWalt 87 dBA is loud enough to cause hearing damage, with prolonged exposure, and that is at 10'.

So if the Husky meets your SCFM needs, I would take the Husky over the DeWalt.

I never regretted getting a 220v compressor, it will run a DA sander, air buffer, air grinder and large spray gun all day, blast cabinet, air hammers and needle scaler are no problem without needing to take a break.

I saw the noise difference too. Belt drive compressors seem to vary a lot here, and some help could probably be afforded with a muffler on the intake. I used to have a desalt direct drive and yes it was noisy and I didn’t care for that. I bought the only belt drive 120v I could find at the time that wasnt harbor freight- it was a small ingersol-rand, maybe 10 gallons? Love It. It’s quiet, carries excellent volume in spurts, and refills faster than the dewalt direct drive did. Nice machine, bought mine at tractor supply. Make sure whatever you get that is a rated tank.

^^ Good call. (y)

One of these or similar will greatly aid tank draining:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08TQVQMR5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title

https://www.amazon.com/Breezliy-Ext...G/ref=dp_prsubs_d_sccl_2/141-1270922-7000135?

Since most drains are inconveniently located, this hose makes it simple. Just a tap of my foot and it's done.
I put a small elbow, and a straight run of 1/8 NPT (I think that was the size) pipe to a 1/4 turn ball valve on the bottom of my compressor tank. It is easily accessible. During heavy use, it gets drained often. I open it at the end of each work day.

Seems a bit crazy, but takes literally a second to tap it open with a toe.

My Craftsman compressor is 20 years old. Doing great.

Almost wish it would have a problem, it’s so noisy…

I have a 44 year old Craftsman. When Sears (Sears Best) still had quality Oil type 30 gal, 3 REAL hp, 240V.

But I also have a California Air Tool unit which is so quiet it is uncanny. Upright 20 gal which is easy to move, and saves space, unlike the horizontal Big Boy, now my primary go to. 5 yrs, zero issues.

A lot of imitators for this type. Do your research.

Santa missed you?

Run yours at 11PM, they will get the hint. :p

Thanks to @Nessism1 , I was able to determine what was listed along the paper was not the same DeWalt that Home Depot was selling.

With the DeWalt no longer in the running because of non availability, I went with the Husky. Had the move quickly as my local Home Depot only had one in stock, and at 50 percent off, the compressor could be gone at any time.

On a funny note, I had a rental trailer on my truck I needed to return today. The compressor is super heavy. Decided to use the rental trailer. I was able to leave my house, purchase, load, transport, and unload the compressor in under 30 minutes. Record time. I live under two miles from Home Depot.

Also want to recognize @nwjones18 for posting this deal on BITOG, a deal I never would have found without him taking the time to post the deal

Nice. Now sell that Craftsman on FB marketplace since I’ve seen how many trailers a move of yours requires.

I’d plumb that regulator away from the tank with a filter separator before the regulator rule number 1 you can not take water out of hot air.
