Just wondering which one is better.. I didn't have a chance to go thru the stats of both filters.. but I"m also thinkin if it's done @ different labs.. would the result be affected by it? So I thought I'd ask instead

Apples and Apples would be a K&N cone vs an AEM cone which AEM wins by a large margin. AEM can be used on its intakes, K&N, knockoffs, and diy home depot intakes.

Paper cone filter choice is still pretty narrow.
AEM in lots of sizes or 89-91 honda prelude CA6543 Fram and STP, 34486 Puro and 46277 Wix filters that support 2L and less motors or a honda S2000 with a long paper cone.

I like the honda prelude cone since you can try out an intake for under $10 without spending the $100-200 for AEM/ K&N.

AMSOIL is expected to be coming out with the cone type filters soon. Same filter media as the EaA.

I recently ordered the Amsoil Ea filter for my vehicle and was suprised to see a very poor quality filter as mentioned in other posts.LOTS of wicking from the seal especialy on the top flat portion of the filter.I'm sure it filters great, but performance wise it doesn't flow that great. The AEM ones seems to be the magic combination of great filtering with great flow.

It would be nice to know the answer to this. I'm getting ready to replace the filter on my K&N FIPK. I was just going to get an additional K&N RF-1045 so I would have two on hand. Then I heard about the Amsoil filter. And then I heard about the AEM Dryflow. I think I'm leaning towards the AEM. I know it's cheaper and supposedly filters quite a bit better than the K&N.

I don't understand.
Why doesn't it flow that great?

It flows just fine!

I'm glad to see the washable/oil free cone filter market taking off so well. I wouldn't be surprised to see it outsell oiled cotton gauze in a few yrs and then eventually just replace it.

vad,
Nice pic!
