I am aware that the Wix made filters are preferred and SuperTech filters are acceptable and widely used by BTOG'ers. I have two GM cars (one with a Honda motor) and I am considering using non-Wix filters because of price and availability. Which one would you recommend for a 4k-5k OCI with Havoline or PP oil?

They are identical with the exception of the filter media. The AC has the better media (presumably more efficient and more durable) but the rest of the filter construction is identical. I've cut many open and you can't tell a Super Tech from an AC or STP. Maybe Filter Guy can chime in with more details about the different media but I would go with the AC because it has better media.

ACDelco DuraGard and SuperTech oil filters are both made by Champ Labs. The main difference is that the ACDelco uses a more conventional construction with metal end caps and center tube. SuperTech filters use the newer Ecore technology (plastic cage and fiber end caps) invented by Champ Labs. Personally, I prefer the ACDelco filters for my 02 Impala even though they cost more. I have never had any problems with ACDelco filters made by Champ Labs so IMO you can use them with confidence.

I've used both, but I'm not big on the SuperTech filters now that they have the plastic cores. Yeah, maybe in time, I'll come around...just not quite yet.

I'm using AC Delcos, or the NAPA Pro Select filters (my mechanic uses the Pro Select as well). Both are quality filters and pricing is similar on both.

I have an 02 prizm. The A/C filter used to have a different bypass valve design compared to the Super Tech, but on the last oil change the A/C filter design changed. The bypass valve is no longer the spring type in the middle, but now a blue button. This is the same as the Super Tech. They both look identical now except the the color of the can. I chose the Super Tech because it is easer to obtain and costs less.
