On top of the pitman arm, I just found out that there are 2 styles of hub bearing assemblys for the 4x4 Blazer/ S10. My truck has the toothed sensor and it looks like the later models have the integral sensor. On Rock Auto, the OE, SKF, and Timken parts appear to be the updated version with only Moog and AC Delco Advantage being the decent brand that sells the older style. Local options are just house brand junk priced similar to SKF and Timken on RA.

Has anyone here successfully upgraded a 1st version to the 2nd version? I am sure it will bolt up.. My main concern is the ABS sensor being compatible with the computer. I am assuming the plugs are the same.

As mentioned in the OP, OE in the correct style isn't available.

FWIW I ordered the Timken hub assembly for my GTO and noticed 2 very important things. First the hub assembly was stamped Made in Japan and secondly the old OE hub had the Timken part number and exactly the same markings, I have owned the GTO since new so I know the old hub is OE. I believe Timken is the supplier for GM I would stick with Timken. AC Delco's quality has gone way down since they started outsourcing to China.

SKF is South Korean now. I bought a wheel bearing and installed it earlier this year, it looked pretty good.

Box said made in USA bearing said made in South Korea. Classy move on their part.

I'm 90% sure they are Swedish. Used to own Reelcraft for those curious. They are huge much like Bosch, Delphi, Denso, etc.

I've seen their bearings be US, Italian and Japanese. SK would be just as good IMO.

SKF has factories around the world and there are no issues with any of them AFAIK. The problem is when they out source like Timken has been doing with some Chinese hubs. I have seen some Timken hubs with no COO on the box, hub or the bearing, you know what it is and where i came from when they hide it.
There is a huge difference in Made by X company in China and Made in China and sold by X company.

Finally got around to doing the job this weekend.. The upgraded style does not work with the original dust shield so I put it back together and gave up for the day. I'll do some tinkering tonight and see if the hub actually bolts to the knuckle correctly. On Blazer and S10 forums, I've read they do and do not work.

I did misinterpret Rock Auto's inventory though as it appears they have the "external tone wheel" style hub bearing.

I ordered a Timken and SKF hubs for my Mustang. They were the exact same part. Amazon only one left of each so thats why I bought two different brands. They came in different boxes but they were the same part. Same stamps on the hubs.
