I am finding conflicting specs for the manual trans and transfer case fluids for my '91 Mazda Navajo (aka Explorer). I have seen either 75W-90 gear oil or Mercon/Dexron.

Which fluid is right for the 5 spd tranny?

Which is right for the transfer case?

MolaKule is correct. Use of the SF fluids will aide your tranny and transfer case function over the factory grade fluids. I use SF's full synthetic SynchroGlide in my troublesome 2002 F-150 with the Mazda 5 speed tranny. It helped greatly with it versus using a Mercon grade fluid. I also use SF's full synthetic diff 75W-90 in my rear diff. I don't tow and have an open diff so the 75W-90 full synthetic works fine for me and hopefully saves a bit on gas. Check with MolaKule as to what type/grade of SF is best for you. He's a site sponsor and very helpful as to catering to our individual needs. I'm more than happy with MolaKule's service and products.
