Which conventionals have the highest amounts of moly? Also, which conventional 5W-30's have the highest viscosities?

Lastly, where is a good place to look up this sort of info for myself in the future...

Maxlife - yeah it's a blend, but so are a lot of 'conventionals'.

300ppm moly, and 11.3 cst@100C.

Havoline/Chevron are still using 200+ ppm moly, more than most.

Why should anyone care about moly?
What makes moly better Boron?
Or better than a sodium additive?

Short answer? Nothing. You cannot focus on just one component of the oil, you need to focus on the entire formulation. So to go hunting for a high moly oil is just plain silly and childish.

Boron? I can't remember the other popular one off the top of my head.

If you replace B with M, Boron became not very nice word that why some don't like it. If you replace M with H, Moly became a very powerfull word ...

From what molakule has said in the past, moly acts as a FM up to about 400 ppm, then from then on acts as both FM and AW. IIRC...

Havoline used to have gobs of moly.
Now Havoline and Shell are almost identical. [except Havoline has more magnesium].
They both have just over 200PPM moly.

Many oils contain both

Moly and boron serve an entirely different purpose

If we can't focus on one component of the oil, I invite you to try PittPenn motor oil. I do get what you are saying, but your response could have been worded much better.

Delo400LE, schaffers ,is schaffers conventional?clean 5000 ,almost any HDEO if you dont mind using it.Also look at VOA's.Sometime back, someone put a bunch of VOA's on data sheets ,although some may be outdated,it still gives a frame of reference.

Delo 400 LE cut back on moly and added a ton of boron, more than Ultra in VOAs. It's been that way for a few years now.
