Picked up the Eneos for $10.
I thought you needed something that carried the NS3 license? No Eneos fluid that I'm aware of carries that license. I'm sure it will be fine, but you seemed to really want that approval, so I thought I'd mention it.Picked up the Eneos for $10.
He's asking about your statement:Eneos website says, ENEOS is the leading innovator and supplier of automotive lubricants to the majority of Asian automobile manufacturers. ENEOS Import CVT | MODEL N Plus provides outstanding compatibility and performance for all of the service fill requirements for your vehicle applications.
Don't know about any license, but ENEOS and Aisin were the two fluid options listed as OEM from my supplier.
I want something that is NS3, not just NS3 rated or suitable. Big difference. What tracer dye? Aren't they shipped dry?
But's it's the same as NS3. I don't care if it's licensed. Does Nissan even license it? Maybe I should have said I wanted an NS3 direct replacement and not a universal CVT fluid. And this stuff IS blue. He's asking about your statement:
That ENEOS fluid is not licensed NS3.
That's highly doubtful and how would you know that? Just as none the Honda ATF DW-1 substitutes are anywhere near the same as the Honda fluid since Asian manufacturers for the most part do not license their fluid formulations. But's it's the same as NS3. Just checked my catalog. $1428 isn't bad at all. My local dealer even has one in-stock.
Does this one require programming after install? Some of them do and it requires Consult-III plus or Consult III plus R2R.
I would pay zero attention to any of WP's "OEM" designations. They list OEM next any manufacturer that may be an OEM supplier, even if it is not for the vehicle in question.WorldPac shows Eneos and Aisin as OEM. Nissan doesn't doesn't actually make the fluid but buys it from suppliers so I would assume same fluid, just different bottles.

Nowhere does ENEOS say that it is the same as the OEM fluid, they only say it is "engineered" for the application. Same wording Idemitsu uses for their DW-1 applicable fluid even though you read over and over they supposedly make real DW-1 for Honda. And it's red too.
Would I use the ENEOS fluid? Sure. But you're the one who said "I want something that is NS3, not just NS3 rated or suitable. Big difference." That's all. Only Nissan NS3 is actual NS3.
Well, the back of Nissan's OEM CVT NS3 bottle says "Made in USA" and "Distributed by Nissan North America" out of Franklin, TN. Maybe they're using Idemitsu and not Eneos. Either way, it's speculation. This thread was started with "I want genuine, NS3 licensed fluid". There's no other licensed NS3 fluid besides what Nissan sells. I don't think any of them will cause damage, and by now the OP has been made aware, but I figured it was worth bringing up that he didn't buy what he originally set out to purchase.Kschachn... Eneos CVT fluid is made by JK Nippon...
Now... I may be crazy... But I would bet decent money JK Nippon makes that CVT fluid for Nissan cars that are built in Japan. JK Nippon is the biggest oil company in Japan.
Here in the US ... Idemitsu is a likely OEM Nissan CVT fluid supplier.
Maybe that's not the case about the possibility of JK Nippon making the CVT fluid in Japan made Nissan vehicles... However I would put some money down on that possibility.
Where did I say that? This thread was started with "I want genuine, NS3 licensed fluid".
Now you're just playing games in this thread. Although you didn't exactly say that, it was what you implied.Where did I say that?
