I have 2002 Acura tl we beening using 5w20 Mobil 1 extended peformance oil since we got car at 120,000 miles n now we got at 156,000 miles on it.

N is burning oil so I ask somebody he told me to put 5w30 oil n can I put high mileage oil or fully sytecics oil? If high mileage oil then which oil is best n if fully systencie oil then which one is best.

If you like the Mobil 1 extended performance, just bump up to the 5w30 version.

Redline 5w30 is probably the "best" or should I say more robust 5w30 out there. I use it in my J32. Overkill, yes, but you asked for the best. For an off the shelf normal oil, Mobil 1 Extended Performance would work well.

Now that Castrol EDGE has dropped in price from $34 a jug to $19.50 a jug, this is just as good if not better that Mobil 1 Extended Performance. It is a very beautiful "thin" 5w30, so I would recommend the Castrol EDGE 10w30, since the cold properties are excellent, and the slightly higher viscosity will be better for an engine using oil.

This one got past the new sticky lol.

Valvoline Maxlife 5w30. Or Castrol/Pennzoil High Mileage oil. I would run one of these.

No need for a synthetic.

The sticky turned into a thread about what the best oil is...

Plus the title of the sticky would not make me automatically look there.

I would ditch the Castrol - which looks weak and go for the "no-holes barred" QS redbottle "higher mileage engine", no cert 10w30. Or Maxlife or Shell HM. Or my new STD best dino, Shell HDEO RT 10w30 CJ-4/SM.

I would say that Mobil 1 0w-40 is the best 5w30 made in the United States.

Save a few dollars off of the EP line and pick some up.It's easy to find, cheap on sale, winds up being a 30 weight(I don't know that for a fact but I believe the 8000 threads on that point) and it sounds way cooler than any other oil. Doesn't it?

All kidding aside.

I have two words why you should use it: Doug Hillary
