MSN Autos states "United States/Mexico", but I've seen at least one of them with a VIN starting with a letter "J" which would point to Japan. It was a 4-cylinder model. Are any of the 6-cylinder Accords still produced in Japan or do they all come from North America?

I did some searching .. and looks like some of them are made in Ohio and other in Japan

The V6 models for North America are manufactured in Ohio. Some of the 4 cylinder models are produced in Japan. There was a discussion on the Drive Accord forums awhile back on this...I believe it was primarily LX/LX-P trim that were made in Japan.

That makes sense, since the TLs are made in Ohio with the exception of the engine.

Japan. I ASSume the V6 Accords do the same but not sure.

if the VIN begins with J its made in Japan. if the VIN begins with 1 its made in the us, 2 is Canada, 3 is Mexico. its the same for all manufacturers for the past 20+ years.

That much I know, but me and BuickGN were talking about where the engine itself was made.

It's said pretty often over on Acurazine that the engines are from Japan but the knowlege base over there makes all of us over here look like rocket scientists. I'm going to check it out for myself now that I'm curious.

Honduras?

Most Accords sold in the U.S. are made in Maryville OH,(my appologies for spelling). My 1988 Accord was actually made in Ontario Canada which, IIRC now makes the Acura MDX. The Ohio factory was the first Honda factory to actually export cars from the U.S. to other countries(Europe/Japan). I can't answer for all Accords or where there made. I haven't seen an Accord made in Japan in a long long time. Honda also has an engine plant in East Liberty OH. Not sure what engines are produced there.
