Where is knock sensor located on 2007 GM Ecotec?

Good question. Typically they are bolted to bosses on the block skirt. Not sure if it's on the intake or the exhaust side though.

I think it might be on the intake side. There are two sensors plugged into block under intake towards driver side, one is buried underneath and just to left of the oil filter compartment, the other is just to the left of that one. Thinking one might be oil pressure sensor and one the knock sensor (?)

the knock sensor should have the water jacket on the other side. the oil pressure sensor should have oil on the other side. loosen one (dont remove it all the way, just a bit) and see what comes out

I've never seen a knock sensor bolted into a water jacket. The one's I'm familiar with bolt cleanly to the block, where no coolant flows. LoneRanger, the newer GM ones I've seen are small 'black boxes' about 3/4" square, attached with one bolt and have a two wire connector.

I was working off of how they used to be on my '95 Vette-- take one out and coolant comes out. Install with teflon tape on threads. I wasn't sure if new ones were the same.

On the Chev. small block v8, at least, the knock sensor is the passenger side block coolant drain plug.

I found it. Plugged into front of block just above the starter.

The rear knock sensor was also the block drain for my 97 GTP.
