This is my post about the condition of the TMAP sensor after 17,500 miles when I cleaned the TMAP sensor and installed the S&B spacer:

Today I pulled the TMAP sensor after 32,500 miles of use with the S&B spacer, almost twice as many miles with the spacer than without. I was amazed how little soot was on the sensor with the S&B spacer installed. Why does the aftermarket have to solve problems like this when GM easily could have simply cast a spacer into the intake horn? My opinion is the spacer is absolutely a necessity.

I will have to look and see if they have a spacer for the baby duramax.
You don't need one. The low pressure EGR in the 3.0L uses post DPF exhaust, so you don't get soot in the intake.

The one in my Alfa looked even cleaner (though wet with oil) after 40k+ miles. There was one piece of soot on it that I could just blow off.

I never touched that sensor after that.

An update. When I cleaned the TMAP sensor at 32k miles I forgot you aren't supposed to get any MAP cleaner spray in the vent hole in the sensor. I sprayed it out real good and the sensor failed about 1,000 miles later. Not a big deal as I carry a new TMAP sensor in the glove box. Moral of the story, don't get any cleaner in the pressure vent hole.
