Just cleaning out my garage and I found this bolt. All I have are Toyotas and Lexus. I think is is part of the braking system but I cannot find a missing hole.

Any of you Toyota/Lexus experts have any idea where it goes? It has to be out of one of the cars in my signature or a '99 Camry V6.

And I haven't been drinking or taking any drugs. Go figure.:ROFLMAO:

It's getting me riled up because I just can't remember where it goes but I should.

it's a 14 mm about 7/8 inches long.

I'm with you. You can see it has removed and installed several times.

Have you ever replaced a caliper ? I agree with the others that it sure looks like it's from a caliper. It could also be a caliper bracket fastener for the rear (fronts are likely bigger, like 17mm head).

Yes, I have. GX, LS, 4Runner, '99 Camry in last year.

Isn't there a type of fitting that this goes through? The fitting is like a donut and would cover the non-threaded portion on the bolt.

I am searching the deep recesses...

Like GeoMan said, you're thinking of a banjo bolt for the brake fluid line into the caliper. That's not what that bolt is.

Replacement calipers come with new caliper slide bolts typically and 14mm head would be fairly common for fronts on many Japanese models. On the rears, and this will vary obviously, the same bolts are often 12mm head while the caliper bracket bolts could be 14mm. I don't recall if replacement calipers come with those fasteners though.

Well, I have searched all 6 cars and everything looks fine. I did replace the stabilizer links with Moog aftermarket on the 4Runner.
I have never replaced calipers but I have replaced pretty much every front rotor on all 6 vehicles. (OEM only)

I guess I'll put the bolt in my catch all box and move on.
