Where do you think BITOG is going in the future???

Since I've been on here for almost 8 years, I've seen this site grow and grow. New members galore. I've often wondered for those of us whom are in a happy place about our oil selection, where do you go? For example: I started out learning all things oil with Bob himself. Oil for my cars, OCI intervals, part of the great thicker is thinner debate, oil for my outdrives, did a bunch of oil testing, etc. etc. I know have confidence in my personal OCI and oil choices. So, as time went on, I started hanging out in the general and off topic forum. I've seen the general and off topic forum really take off in the last couple of years so I don't feel like I'm alone. Wondering how far do you think this website will expand and tinto what different domains? One thing I've really come to rely on is advice. Advice on computers, waxes, tires, just about anything non-oil related.

Most members will be changing cars and seeing new oil challenges.

I went from the Accord 2.4, an engine that literally will run on any oil, to the VW 2.0T, a challenging engine to lube by any standard. I had to adjust my stash accordingly. (pun intended)

Motors are only getting more and more complicated, and as such, the importance of lubrication technology will grow. Just look at where we've come in the way of reliable 8000rpm redlines, direct inject, 0w viscosities, and so on in the last few decades.

I agree with the previous posters, BITOG is a pretty well rounded site, but I think that PCMO and Diesel will be the main hub if you will and keep the site strong. As the others mentioned lubes are changing and the vehicles that require these lubes will change, I really think that is what draws people to this website, oil is confusing, I used to not care, until I walked into a mech shop and saw a black engine (sludged) and realized I don't want my cars like that. It has become an obsession to learn more ever since and I have gained valuable info on this site. Thanks BITOG

The things I've learned on this site has been nothing short of astounding. I'm not talking about oil, for me, computers as well. Got some super great advice on computers and all of it has served me well. Yeah, CR-V. Wife wanted something different, now she wishes we'd gotten the 2010 Accord instead. But, it's been a great car so far. I just don't like 4 cylinder engines. But, she has put about 21K on it already.

I agree, I've learned a lot on here from a lot of knowledgeable people. As long as engines need oil, I suppose BITOG will exist as long as the owner wishes to keep it going.
