When to add Lubegard?

Hello folks,

I am in the process of changing transmission fluid of my 2006 Sentra. The capacity of this engine (RE4F03B) is 7 3/8 qt. In the changing process, I replace 4 qt of fluid. I plan to do this replacement 3X (more if required).

I considered changing ATF because I have never changed it (The car has 103,000 miles on it) and the car jerks between 1st to 2nd gear. I am not too sure if this is same as the shudder. I have changed the fluid once and the jerk reduced a bit but after 10 days its back. I plan to change another 4 qts in 10 days. Should I add Lubegard then or add it during last ATF (3rd) change?

Add it as the last step, once the transmission is finished being serviced. 1oz per quart of total ATF capacity.

You have an 11-year-old car and virtually no service to the transmission....and you wonder why it might be jerking or hard shifting....amazing............why would you do that? Makes us wonder if you ever changed your oil ....

This, but you might want to do 1.5 oz per quart. It's been known to provide lower fluid temperature.

Actually, it was very clean. I am changing ATF because of two reasons, one, the car has been jerking for a while and every mechanic I went to think its OK. Secondly, I don't remember paying for changing ATF since I got this car pre-owned. Thought, better safe than sorry.

I don't really know what you want me to answer. You may be well-experienced person in the car business, every other average joe is not. And yes, I changed oil regularly because that was all I knew. This is my first car before this never needed a car.

I am sorry, I didn't understand this. From what I understood after reading BITOG and their website, Lubegard is a friction modifier. The friction will increase the temperature. So do you mean that adding more will keep the temperature even lower?

1oz per quart of max ATF capacity in your vehicle. Add it on your last ATF drain and fill...
