I didn't see where this had been discussed before...... So, think the PP price will come down since it's grp III now? Cause I don't see spending $20 for a jug of it.

I doubt you'll see the price come down on Pennzoil Platinum just because the basestock changed. My

guess I missed this - when did PP go grpIII? I thought terry said it was some new fangled EOP base stock? did they change back? anyone know why?

Look through the last month or so of posting on PP.

I still have plenty from the Pep Boys + Pennzoil rebates which was less than $.70/qt. (haven't checked the date codes yet for GIII vs GV) Stock up when there are deals.

Only us oil geeks will know that it is now a Grp 3 quasi=syn. Most people will see the grinding gears seperate the oil molecules and get put back together, and thinking that is a improvement will pay even more.

There is a $15 rebate offer from SOPUS on 6 quarts of Platinum, good through Dec 31, 2006. The rebate comes as a Mastercard gift card.

I have no idea what these companies are using, but, I'm guessing they'll use what keeps them competitive in price and maximize profits.
