According to the Valvoline PDSs, DB is a little thinner than ML, and it lacks moly, which ML has.
It may be that between inexpensive synthetics and high mileage blends, there just isn't much market space for a blend oil to sell at a premium price, so Durablend may be gradually fading away.
Purely syn-blend oils are becoming fast obsolete , as most HM are now syn-blends. With GrpIII syns cheap on the market the market share of syn-blends like durablend is becoming very small. Pennzoil still makes two but Gold is a easy to find as a golden unicorn , while the other is marketed towards dexos apps. I cant see syn-blends surviving in the market unless they find a new niche. I think Pennzoil has the right idea with its dexos synblend , however Castrol and Valvoline refuse to pay GM's license fee. With the gap between quality dino's and cheap syns , its hard to see synblends on the market anymore.
