I will continue to buy my oil and MC filters from WM. If they stop selling MC filters I will then buy them from O'Reillys. They are only .02 more. ($3.97 WM $3.99 O'R)
I have (1) MC filter left. I think I will try a FU after my next OCI.

My choice is completely due to my surplus of filters. I use Pure One almost exclusively because I have so MANY of them! First, the Metal Wars, and a little later the K-Mart clearances. Average I paid about $2/filter for them. I sold all my Purolator Classics to my FIL because I would never use them. I kept all my Pure Ones and am slowly building a Napa Gold stash.

I probably have 20 Pure Ones, 10 Quaker State Puro Clones, and 5 Napa Golds. If I had it to do again I'd still do it but if I were to pick a filter to exclusively run I'd probably go with Napa Gold. I don't think I'll be running out of filters any time soon!

Is it? I don't ever tighten my oil filter so tight I can't undo it. I think it's a neat idea but I've never seen the need to use a wrench to take off an oil filter unless you plan to torque it on there like an evil alien facehugger.

I had settled on Napa Platinums but now that I can get Fram Ultras for $7.99 at Advance (with coupon), I can't justify spending twice as much for the Platinums.

Running them 2x means about $4.00 per oci, or about the same as a Purolator Classic - less in the case of the XG9018 vs. the L15436. With the Ultras I get a silicone adbv, a strong can, depth media, the texture grip, and that nifty wire backing.

I will NOT shop at Wal-Mart so its prices are not a factor.

WM has EVERYTHING I need or want. They even have the electric buggies to haul my handicapped butt around the store.

That and it keeps me from having to go to over priced stores and malls.
What I can't get at WM I can order online!

Why?
1. Correct part # for truck from OEM supplier
2. Silicone ADBV
3. $3 and change at Wal-Mart when they have it in stock
4. There are four of them in front of me, and another at my aunt's house where I do oil changes for the time being, so since I already have them, I will use them.

I have used PureOnes before without complaint, but the Motorcrafts are cheaper and are an excellent filter for the price.

Purolator Synthetic

It's something new and I'm just giving it a try. I've run Fram Ultra's, Napa Platinums, and PureOnes consistently in the past.

So far I have 3k miles on my PSL20195 on the Focus with Mobil AFE 0w20. It's an oversized filter so I'd like to take it to 2 OCI intervals but I think I will cut this one open at 5K so I can have something to compare the 2 OCI filter to.
