Then I believe yours is better than mine. (Geez, that hurts to say.)

I'm sure they'll change the terms sooner than later, but for now I'll take what they give me. I will add that it seems silly that a card I only use for gasoline has such a high credit limit. I would prefer a card with say, a $1k limit, to protect against fraud.

You guys that have 5% cards are lucky! You really can't get those kind of cards anymore, and the ones that do have up to 5% have all kinds of limits and restrictions. The best card I've found these days is still Capital One no hassle rewards - 2% back on gas and groceries, 1% back on everything else, with a .25% bonus at years end. You can get the rewards at any time in any form - a check, a credit to your account, or you can get bonus rewards at certain retailers.

We use a Capital One card like yours on all our other purchases. We signed up for the American Express card specifically because they offered the gas rebate. Gas is one of our bigger expenses so anything we save there is a help and having a separate statement just for gas has made it a bit easier to see where the money is going,

The American Express card right now for personal use is 1% off of for the first $6500, THEN it goes to 5% after $6500 for gas and groceries, with 1.25% on everything else.

I got the Shell gas card just before it changed (receiving the 5% per gallon vs. the $.05 per gallon. I do miss the days of using my Citi Driver's Edge card where I was getting 6% on gas, groceries, and prescriptions. Another guilty party here of paying of the card monthly. I do however still maintain this card because it gives us a $0.01 per mile (transferred to the ThankYou Network for use of gift cards) or IOW $1/day for our 100 mile round trip commute. :) IIRC, we've cashed in on the ThankYou Network for over $2K in the past 4+ years.

Why should anyone be "Guilty" of anything when paying off a card in full every month...?? Do people really think that way?

That's the amount on the bill, I pay the bill. I don't care if it's $200, or $2,000, that's what gets paid!

Where's the issue?
