Anything that forces me to waste time on an app to get something in person looses my business.

I loath having an app for every retail situation worse usually the points, rewards and digital gift cards are all nearly worthless as they only force a purchase from a worthless place with nothing I want in an unreasonable timeframe.

Several grocery stores no longer get my business because of this, lying on the price tag assuming you are buying 10 in an app combined with some other item I would never want.

Shell digital gift card fits this bill also.

Wastes more time trying to find a way to get the deal in the app than it takes to drive there shop and get home .

Kroger has that scan here get a gazillion dollars off sheet. I emailed them. If my "Kroger" card won't get me a discount then they are screwing me. I used my MIL as a example. She DOES NOT have a new fangled smart scan screen phone. What is she supposed to do? Evidently there were a lot of people complaining because I've noticed a lot LESS of the scan crap. WHY??????? Do this in the first place????? All it does is piss people off. Stupid.

who is making you buy digital gift cards

i'm serious who is it I'll beat them up
Nah, it’s a case of everyone decided that instead of having a sale ever, or a coupon, or even a traditional rebate, you instead overpay for the product in person to get a worthless digital gift card for an app you don’t have, that you can only use at a store you don’t have in your area or on a website you never use, that doesn’t have products you buy and it’s only good for 7 days making it so you would have to buy crap months before you need it, choose wrong and the normal refund process won’t work on a e-card and you likely get stuck with crap you will never use.
