What's the best courier vehicle that's not a prius for no more than 20k?

A medical courier has driven over one million miles on his 2015 Subaru Crosstrek, and he’s still driving it. The Impreza hatchback is lower to the ground like a car and minus the plastic body cladding, but is otherwise the identical vehicle.

****!!!! Original engine and trans? CVT?
Is there a link about this?

I am familiar with the Crosstrek driver. There are perceived issues with maintenance costs on a Subaru, involving frequent fluid changes which must be performed by factory mechanics to ensure proper fluid levels.

I know of a medical courier Lexus CT 200h owner in Texas with several hundred thousand miles accrued.

Several new/future vehicles excite me.
Mazda CX-30.
Toyota Corolla Crosstrek Hybrid.
2022+ Honda HRV w/1.5T. Word of mouth re this engine is better than advertised.

Don't think it was a CVT. But. Over a million miles gas savings may pay for a trans overhaul (or three). TCO is where it's at. Cannot fixate on just one cost, have to see the whole picture.

Put another way, people who want the lowest motoring cost don't buy new cars every 5 years. Ins, reg and depreciation would outweigh any fuel savings. Fleet owners do because downtime is more costly than a payment they can budget for. But for the average driver, I don't think it comes close. Now someone who drives megamiles in a courier service, I suspect they exist between those two examples.

I hear the ecodiesel is very unreliable due to egr and the exhaust system.

I heard it breaks cranks due to “lugging” but there are some with big miles on newer examples .

If EGR is an issue living in a non-emission zone does wonders for the issue

End of the day $20k + new car warranty = drive then dump

I need to go work for grub hub! How many hrs a week do you put in?

We can't get delivery to my house. We always get a call and have to go meet the driver somewhere. If I wanted to go get my food I would not have bothered with ordering it to be delivered

40 on the low end if I'm luckier to 60 on th high end. Average 45 to 55.

I drove my neighbors Prius two days ago , About 4 miles in the city and 12 miles on the freeway . It was fine. You want the most reliable, lowest cost per mile / hour vehicle you can buy. No different than a semi truck or an airliner. As a business person,, being a self employed person makes you that,, has to be your decision.

True. I'd rather get something with a lot lower mileage on it and start from there. Drive to 200k or 250k. Then see what I want to do with it.
