I've been to three super walmart's in my area and went pass the oil sections in all of them. What I've seen was all the supertech oils where gone, but a few 10w40 jugs and quarts in those stores.

Is the supertech line of oil going the way of their filters did? Has anyone else noticed this in their stores?

Wal-Mart was busy delivering Black Friday merchandise to its stores the past week and goods like motor oil probably got put on back burner.

Interesting.. I hope not.

Maybe they held off shipments in order to resupply stores faster with items that are moving faster because of black friday. maybe as a way to not have to increase trucks/shipments.

Possibly just a problem with their supplier. I noticed about a week ago that 3 different local stores had no inventory of their house-branded $.97/can gloss black spray paint. As previously posted, they probably are worried more about black Friday merchandise.

The Mobil 1 and Castrol are usually cleaned out any time I stop at the oil aisle.

Was there a big sale, perhaps? Up here, the ST went for $6 a gallon this weekend. I imagine it got picked pretty clean.

I used to see Supertech sit on pallets that were marked with the blender/bottler. I don't think their own trucks haul it very far, maybe from a regional warehouse... maybe not even that far.

Where I live, conventional is an XOM product. In stock.

WM cuts it close WRT paying bills on time and supplier relations, they get an occasional hickup, I'm sure. They had issues with pet food a year ago and had a note to customers on the shelf about how they were scrambling to substitute.

That's just sad, but considering this:

That were two top news items when I opened up my yahoo homepage this AM, what else is new?

ST selection has always appeared spotty. They supposedly have a maxlife ATF type product? Never seen it. Dex VI? Never seen it. Plenty of other SuperTech chemicals though...

It is an odd situation, and Ill bet it was all priorities. Motor oils are supposedly one of the lowest profit items in the store, and store brand oils may well be lower profit margin than the name brand stuff that has a premium associated with it. SO i you could ship plastic widgets that make good profit and that people want for black friday, high dollar items like TVs that people want, or low margin, heavy items like motor oil, which would you choose? There surely is only so much storage pallet space in the store, and with Thanksgiving, likely fewer trucks on the road.

Sad - but every year someone dies at Walmart on Black Friday.

I was at the wal mart in my hometown, and the quart of power steering fluid that was ST didnt say WPP or WNE. Its WPP, WNE in PA areas.

Well isn't that interesting. An American company supporting the likes of the Hugo Chavez regime. Shows that profit is king.
The Harley branded oil is also a citgo product. Again an American company supporting that regime.
I wonder what supplier bottles st in canada
