What's different about Mobil 1 15-50 EP

I use Mobil 1 15-50 in my mowers hydro system. The Manuel calls for 10-40 dino with lubrisol additive in one of my mowers and the others call for Mobil 1. The manufacture has said synthetic can be used instead as long as it is 15-50 and no lubrisol is added. Now I noticed this new stuff and want to make sure it isn't going to change things.

The major difference is that Mobil has increased the amount of high viscosity-index base oils in the formulation, and augmented ZDDP and other anti-wear additives.

I can't imagine performance-wise, the 15W-50 EP would be any different than the old 15W-50 Mobil-1 formula for your application. If anything, the stuff should be better due to lower volatility.
