Dang!! i decided i would switch back to pennzoil, went to autozone and ill be darned but the price of it went up to 2.19/quart along with every other name brand oil except for superflo wich is still at 1.30/quart but they only had a few quarts..the whole reason i was getting out of the mobil was because they faded out the 1.40/quart drive clean stuff and replaced it with the higher priced 5000 mile mobil, but all of it has went up to the same 2.19/quart wich sucks! Im not trying to be a tightwad, but we have 5 vehicles i have to keep oil in. 3 of the vehicles get drove a lot and one of them is a saturn that drinks a quart per week, thats why im being a little tight. as i stated, AZ seems to be short of the 1.30/quart superflo, anyone know if they are fading it out also or is superflo going to still be on the market and at the good price?

What about Quaker State? I think Quaker State and Pennzoil are the same... like Havoline and Chevron Supreme are the same. I find Quaker State on sale often. I don't use it in my vehicles but I do use it in my grandfathers truck and minivan. They seem to be in good shape after a hundred or so thousand miles with three to four thousand mile oci's. These vehicles do a lot of city driving too.

went to wallmart, cheapest oil was either havoline or the new formula shell..neither of these are really my pick but i may have to go with one of them, can anyone tell me just how good either of these oils are? does havoline rate up with mobil or pennzoil or even close?

CONOCO. It is also rumored that CONOCO does not import oil from the Middle East but I can't say for sure. So if politics drive some of your purchases, there you go.

I just finished a 9-month gig with ConocoPhillips and can tell you that they do have oil operations in Libia. However, I believe that that is the only area in the Middle East where they do business; the rest is in the North Sea, Russia (Lukoil), Africa, Latin America, Asia, and the US. Actually, I don't think that's even the case. My wife has an uncle who is an electrical engineer for ConocoPhillips and he is leaving to help oversee some new construction in Qatar this week.

Havoline is highly regarded in this forum. If I still ran dino in my vehicles, Havoline would make my top 5 list. Shell doesn't seem to get a lot of love, but I wouldn't hesitate to use it.
