What's a crash damaged Subaru worth?

When I was buying rebuildable salvage titled cars, my max was typically 1/3 of clean value. Clean title would be worth a bit more especially if was still under warranty. For me disassembled cars were less value, because nickels and dimes add up. Cars with in demand drivetrains (Mustang 5.0's, Camaros, CTSV...) were worth the value of the drivetrain.

Seems that most clean 50,000 mile 2018 Impreza's are listed for $16,000-$17,000US. I'd think as a private sale repairable, it'd sell for about $3,500US. He's in a major metro area. I'd bet he'll find a buyer.

Maybe someone wants a starting point for a project rally car? But yeah, definitely an as-is/parting out sale, must buy whole car. Lol

$300. That's what the junkyard is giving us for a 2000 Camry that needs a new engine (at 178K).
Maybe but there can be a big difference between 2000 and 2018. The former is solidly in beater territory while the latter can still be a nice car with much greater value.

But sure, there are a few dozen variables

Fixed it would be a $10k+ car... I would call some collision places or even a local garage that sells cars on the side and see if they are interested. If its just the subframe bent and not the frame, anyone could fix it pretty easily.
We had new replacement value for our 2018 on our insurance until last year I believe... It's hard when some people just shoot themselves in the foot again and again....
