what would you consider the best 9007 bulb?

In a lot testing and research, it is common knowledge that the Silverstars are not brighter than ordinary bulbs. And many people do have problems with them burning out in 1 year or less. Silverstar bulbs are no better than your standard bulbs. Xtravisions aren't much better either.

I have to disagree. The Silverstars I installed in my 06 Frontier gave me a lot more usable light out at my friend's farm where there are no street lights. I had more visibility of the ditch on the right side and I could see further down the road. The stock halogens the truck came with were yellow and not very bright.

I have used them all over the last 30 years---used to replace headlights with with leaded fluted crystal ones in the day but can't any longer. That being said my truck is the only vehicle besides my bikes that is not HID. The best bulb I have used to date period is the Hella. I run the higher wattage "off road" only bulbs but love the durability, color and the light output.

I have used Silverstar 9007 bulbs in my 2003 Saturn ION since it was new, and I have never been disappointed.

I recently put Silverstar ultras in my mom's 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the improvement in light output is impressive.

I recommend Silveratar ultras.

I have to agree here that when I put my Silverstars in, I had a marked improvement in usable light output. It was fantastic. After about 4 months I had one of them burn out and in a pinch I put the 12 Month old Stock Bulb back in and was SHOCKED to find I could not tell which one was the SilverStar and which was the OEM POS bulb. They were both the same color temp and neither were brighter than the other.

I used to buy the upgraded bulbs and now after that I will never buy them again. Sure the first month or two is fantastic but shortly after it just fades out to stock anyway. JUNK in my book. Never again will I get duped by this charade.

I had 5k HID in my last car, and in everything else, stock halogen. I dont bother with the upgrade incandescent bulbs either. HID or stock.
