XS650,
sorry for the translation bit.

I started another thread (incomplete as of this post, trying to show what they all were).

If the link (heaps of hot-links) works, I'll post it, otherwise, I'd suggest a subscription to Austalian Muscle Car.

(still working on the other thread)

Well this one will show our age.

3. 84 Rabbit GTI. One of the best cars I have ever owned. Sold it when I got married. Wife didn't like 6 cars in the driveway. Now SHE wishes we had it back!

They were hand me downs. (the first two)

A 1956 flat six Plymouth four door sedan. It was a death trap. Good riddance.

A 1951 Buick Special with an ohv straight 8. At the time I thought it was old, old old. But I wish I had it now.

A 1964 Corvette convertible, bright red, 365 hp 327. I was a 19 year old with a Corvette. Wow! Bought it used, 2 years old, and sold it 10 years later with 225,000 miles on it for twice what I paid for it. Wish I had it now.

1985 Mitsubishi Lancer
1988 Pontiac Grand Am (the worst car ever)
1991 Honda Accord.

No-s 1 and 3 I sold. No 2 donated to a charity.

1970 Firebird- $600
1978 Alfa - $8000
1988 Crx- $11,100 - still my daily driver.

These are the only three cars I've owned other than than the '89 Accord my Mom gave me last year.

So, I average one car every 10 years. Not bad for someone who pees on tree huggers.

I've been driving since March of 1976.

1) 1975 Ford Maverick, the 4-door with the 250-cid six. (Actually belonged to fiancee, later Wife No. 1.) First car, and brand-new, too. Drove it for 5 years.

2) 1965 Mercury Park Lane 4-door with the Breezeway option, the power rear window. I was always replacing tires on it, but otherwise it wore like iron. Lousy gas mileage on the 390 T-Bird V-8, but no car note, as I bought it outright for $500. Drove it for 4 years in the early '80s.

3) 1975 Volvo 164 -- the infamous model that was known to catch on fire. Mine did, while I was driving it. If there's been an internet in those days, I'd have done my research and would never have touched it. It scared me off foreign cars for more than a decade. Drove it for only about 3 *months* in 1985.
