What type of tree is this?

Can't figure out exactly what kind of tree this is in my back yard. It's small, about 8" diameter at the base and ~15' tall. Look familiar to anyone? Picture taken today 10-26-2025 for future reference.

Google images says it's a Dogwood. How accurate is Google, I don't know.

Google "dogwood test" for a sure fire identifier: carefully, gently pull a leaf apart and the 2 sections should hang together on fiberous vein strands: https://plants.sdsu.edu/sdpls/plants/Cornus_sericea_o.html

Thanks all. Flowering Dogwood it is. I have 2 and the other one needs some serious pruning. I needed to know the tree species so I could search for when to prune.
