Got a brand new GBU ( Garbage Bin Unit ) 2 wheel model from my city and on 1st pickup the garbage truck backed-up in a snowbank the rubber tire slid off the plastic rim.
Before crying like baby to my city I was just going to fix it myself. No amount of stomping / pushing / prying is getting the wheel back on.
I sprayed everything with silicone spray thinking it would just slide on but it made everything worse , ie more sliding off.
I then tried heating the rubber thinking it would made it more pliable.
I then tried with a few clamps and pry bars, almost made it on but the plastic rim is at risk of breaking
What's the magic that I am missing, how do they get these wheels on at the factory ? A 4 pin machine that stretches the rubber wheel appart ?
