I know it's not the same, but as a comparo, I bought an 8-year old Tribute off a small car lot 1 year ago. Excellent condition, V-6 engine, 106k miles.....$6k. I'd 'expect' an older Civic to be a LOT less than that!

This is why I bought a Civic.. They hold their value like no other. They don't get too much cheaper than that unless you're talking really old (pre 2000 or earlier)

addguy - Believe me, I'm irritated to no end about the lack of quality used cars for a decent price out there! I can't find a decent Civic for less than $6-7K. Pathetic.

This car wouldn't of qualified for that "cash for clunkers" program. It's mpg rating is way to good.

I would be pretty sure he is referring to the used car market being bad due to other cars in cash for clunkers, not this Civic itself.

This!

My neighbor bought a 2005 Civic LX coupe with only 60K miles for $6000 and I'm talking a mint south FL car with no damage/rust/faded paint/maintenance reciepts...etc off Craigslist. If you look around you can find some pretty decent Civics for not that much money.

I told her I'll do the tune up for free if she buys all the stuff from AAP. With $4+ gas on its way very soon a Civic is a good car.
