What to do with the old stuff?

How is what that trucker does any different than what ships or whoever else gets used oil to burn are doing? As I mentioned in an earlier post, I thought I might by a diesel and keep the oil just in case. It's been discussed several times on these boards.

I went to AutoZone yesterday and dropped off 3 gallons. When they were putting my drop off amount in the computer I noticed it said 20 quart max so I ask the guy what the max amount was and he said 20 quarts a day.
