What to clean intake manifold with....

So tonight pulled the alternator, power steering pump, and the Upper intake manifold/throttle body.. EGR YUCK. The entire inside is just black and oily and gunky, very disgusting. When I pull the lower part tomorrow, what can I use to clean them, it really is very bad. I'll take some pictures tomorrow if I remember to show you. Somehow I have a feeling when it's all put back together it's going to run quite a bit better...

I have just always used a carb and choke cleaner. It is how I dealt with Carbon build up when I had my TDI.

I used a carb cleaner when i cleaned the throttle body on my jeep. It worked really well. Just got to let it sit for a while and then scrub away
