Cleaning Intake On Car

95 Civic D15B7, 230k miles

Planning to remove the throttle body and replace all of the little coolant hoses that snake around and under the intake manifold. I'll clean the throttle body while it's off the car.

Is there a safe way for me to clean the intake manifold while it is still on the car? I would plan on pulling out the sensors first but not the fuel injectors.

I realize that removing it is ideal, but I'm not ready to take it off the car yet and disturb everything. If that's the only "right" way to do it then I'll skip cleaning it for now.

3M has an intake cleaning system that IIRC has a TB cleaner, in-tank FSC, and an intake cleaner that has a hose you hook into the TB and dispense when the car is running to pull it through the intake manifold and clean the intake valves.

Can I hose it down with TB cleaner, sop it up with rags, run it, change the oil, and hope for the best?

Plugs will likely get ruined too.

Would the plugs need to be changed after using this?

Typically no. It's not as aggressive as something like Seafoam.
