I've been getting the following e-mail spam for several days now. 2-3 a day.

I'd like to know what it is about but I'm to chicken to go to the listed website.

What I'd like to know, is the gibberish between the style tags some sort of data, or is it just junk to take up space.

Thanks for any info..

If you open up an e-mail and it is spam, then you click on their link, they can trace your e-mail and the spammers will then know that your e-mail is a real address and you will start to see more spam.

Dont click on the links, worse case they can cause all kinds of bad stuff to get downloaded onto your machine.

The Gibberish. Hotmail, AOL, G-Mail etc...etc... have spam filters. Spam collects on all their servers and slows down everything. The Gibberish is there to help the Spam fool the filters in place and make it to your inbox.

Spam is EVIL. Delete it and report it, if your e-mail service has that ability.

Save some spam to feed those 4 cats !!

I cannot help but get the feeling that a spambot parsed or sent this message with the wrong character encoding. I can't see a spammer or spambot typing that!

Many spambots will "harvest" random words and phrases from an infected system's email data to try to trick spam filters into thinking that relevant information is inside the message. The days of being solicited to "enlarge your pen1s" were over quickly, and there has been a measure/ counter-measure struggle between spammers and spam filter...ers since. Spammers have recently cracked Google CAPTCHA (the part of a web page where you have to type in characters you see partially obfuscated next to the text input box) so that they may bypass this "human verification" step in order to spam away. (Personally I force users to answer a question like "Is fire hot?")

For Pete's sake, though: Never, ever, ever click a link in spam. It is dangerous; but worse, it is *traffic* for them, and only encourages them further, as you have at least feigned interest in their [censored], *and* they've now verified that the email address they have for you is valid!

Like I said, I'm chicken. I never go look on the imbedded link.

Like I said, this is a new type of spam that just started last week. I'm getting 2-3 a day, all like the sample. I had copied the email in to notepad and formatted the wierd stuff to see if there was anything I could recognize there. They all seem to be coming from the same ISP. SpamCop is looking into it.
