What size oil filter removal cap for chevy 4.3?

2011 silverado 4.3 v6, was just wondering if anyone new the size of the oil filter to purchase an end cap removal tool most likely from Wal-Mart

I just went to Walmart and grabbed a filter and went to the wrenches to find what fit.

A better option is the 3 finger type that work on multiple size filters.

Walmart has this one, but not sure how good it is.

I'd get the grabber/pliers style that works for any size. Or go to the auto parts store, look up the filter, and take the filter out the box and try all the different filter wrenches til you find one that fits.

This is exactly what I did and have been doing it for decades & everytime I get another vehicle requiring a different size filter.

As easily accessible as that filter is, one of those band wrenches would work well too. 3 finger types are good too just don't crank on them too hard else you'll pop a hole in the filter and make a mess!

I use a carbon fiber end cap that Walmart used to have. It's great with normally torqued filters.

The only on to get. Had mine for 35 years. Nothing as good.
