I just changed oil in my 6.0 PSD. I used Rotella T 5w40 purchased from Walmart. I was remembering when I opened the first two jugs the little foil seals where torn away from the jug. There was what looked like some glue on the cap which appeared to have been bonded to the foil seal and therefore lifted the foil seal when I removed the cap. Jugs 3 & 4 did not do this. Has this happened to any one else? I started thinking maybe someone swapped out the Rotella for some cheap stuff. What do you guys think?

Well peeking through my camo curtains I can see several black helicopters hovering above me, now what? Sample the oil and make sure its all HDEO stuff or just back away from the window and not worry?

I actually think the GP II based, 5w-40 Rotella IS the cheap stuff - compared to a top tier PAO/Ester synthetic - so I guess it depends on your perspective ...

If concerned, take it back to Wallmarket and ask to exchange it. They won't bat an eyelash.

I exchanged my wife of 28 years for a new model - no questions asked. After two weeks, I asked to have the old one back. She is a much better cook.

Now I thought that the 5w40 was GIII, and the regular 15-40 was the GI -GII, I knw that the Delo is GII, II+ (whatever that is), cause they come out and tell you. I know the Rot 5-40 is way better than the Rot 15-40.
