Hi all new here, first post.
I just purchased a 2009 Hyundai Sonata GLS 2.4 auto for my wife from a division of our company. We have a small rental fleet for our customers. I have seen this car since it was new with us and know the service records and history. I plan on keeping it for quite some time and will switch it over to Mobil 1 5w20 this weekend with a Hyundai filter. I guess my question is, what OCI would some of you reccommend with this combination? The car will be mainly highway miles 80-90kms a day.

thanks

With all highway driving, if you really want to extend intervals, you could go 16-20,000km on an OCI.

However, once you plan to go past 16k km (10k miles) you may want to do an oil analysis to make sure this won't cause problems.

If you want to stay safe, go about 16k km. per fill.

I could see 16,000 km, 20k is probably pushing it. I would opt for M1 EP over regular M1 for extended drain intervals.

Just so you know, the Hyundai filter isn't required (they have a TSB about aftermarket filters is why I bring this up). I've been using mostly PureOne's and I have a Bosch Distance Plus in it currently and have minimal valve train noise. You can't tell the car is running when it's idling.

+1 for Bosch Distance plus it is a good solid filter, kinda pricey but right now they have 5.00 rebate on them and at Oreilly's you can get it with 5qts sythetic oil for 29.99 before the rebate.
