One of my favorite shows as a kid and my dad used to tell me that Mr. Ed was a girl and she was a zebra.........I thought he was messing with my mind.....dunno......

One thing for sure Grevy's zebra is a lot like some folks:

Quote:
The species is vocal during fights (an asinine characteristic), braying loudly.

That's what I thought.
(Of course, Lassie was actually played by a coyote, Flipper was the Loch Ness Monster, Rin Tin Tin was a Timber Wolf, and the role of Chewbacca was handled by an actual Sasquatch.)

It makes no sense because it's utter and complete nonsense.

What'd be the point of all that knowledge if they didn't show it?

What's the point of so many showing their lack of knowledge all the time?

A zebra is a difficult animal to deal with. From what I've read, they are very adept at dodging lassos, so it's hard to rope them, and they like to bite.

Jared Diamond, in his Guns, Germs, and Steel, mentions a story that a pair of zebras were once trained to pull a carriage in England. But the species has proved much harder to domesticate than the horse; people can't make them pay.

So the idea that a zebra would have put up with the long hours required to film a TV series . . . uh-uh.
