What is your EDC Pistol?

if u feel the need to go armed with a gun, i suggest you wear a bullet proof vest, they are not comfy ......but to each his own.......

I have heard a reply to this. “If you think you need a gun, you should have a rifle. “. My thoughts are if you (a civilian) are going to a place where you need a gun, stay home. I carry, but avoid trouble.

My crystal ball is not accurate enough to inform me when I will need a gun and when I will not need a gun.

Been CCing since 2006 - last few years a P365.

Mark me down as I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Do you always wear your seatbelt when you are driving or just on the days you are going to be involved in a collision?

I like the old cheap and reliable S&W Shield 9. They used to sell all day for $149 to $169 + tax. They run like a Glock! Sure only 7-8 round magazine but as a civilian I have never needed to draw. I do not invite trouble and know how to walk away from a bad situation. So 7-8 rounds and 2 reloads is more than I think I will ever need. It is EDC not go to war hand gun! Best of all my wife can handle it as well as I can. I am a big guy but hat the feel of most double stack guns. In fact my Mom in her 70's can handle it as well.

It is small and thin so unless I am wearing a speedo I can actual conceal it in a holster including in the front pocket of my blue jeans. I am about 6 foot 6 foot 1 and 240lbs. I can and have concealed huge wheel guns but that was just silly and made days longer and heavier.

A lot of people carry far too much gun for EDC. I mean in Winter I could do a SBR AR on my back under my Winter jacket but how terrible would that be to carry EDC?

Doesn't really matter what you carry, but it's a good idea to train with it, shoot it enough to know and trust it's reliability. Also prudent to carry ammunition that you have seen actual ballistic gel tests from the gun you're carrying. There's also that old axiom: it won't help you if it's been left at home......

6 foot 1, 240lbs in a speedo is something you can NOT unsee.

My eyes, OMG , my eyes. 👀

I live in NY. I took the CC class which basically was really good to point all the places I can NOT carry anything which is everywhere you might actually want these days.

Sadly the trouble seems to come to more and more places daily. I try to avoid so many places now. My son had an issue in parking lot at Kroger but was able to get away from it but was very concerning, 3pm on a Friday, packed parking lot.

How did I miss this one? Anyway, have a few in rotation that get EDCed, but more often than not, it's my Shield Plus with Streamlight TLR-6L and a back-up mag topped off with one of the reliable variants of 124gr. 9mm +P (Speer GD, Federal HST, Winchester SXT etc.)

Mine has been a Taurus M85 UL mostly and a Taurus PT111 G2 occasionally.
But I just got a Ruger Security .380 but have yet to shoot it. It will likely be my new EDC. 2-3xs the capacity of my trusty revolver.
